Depaul International belongs to relevant campaigning and lobbying organisations because we believe that this strengthens the impact of our work. 

Depaul Ukraine (formerly Depaul Kharkiv), through Depaul International, belongs to the Consortium for Street Children, the only worldwide network that works collectively to help street children on a global scale.  The CSC mobilises its passion, values, beliefs and resources to coordinate and support committed individuals, groups and organisations in the interest of street children.  The CSC especially dedicates its efforts to strengthening emerging civil society, state and market partnerships that respond to the needs of marginalised communities, such as urban slums where many street children originate.  Through good stewardship the CSC delivers efficient and responsive programmes that help build a global community in which the rights of street children are promoted and protected.

Through our links with the Consortium, Depaul Ukraine was invited to send a team of nine street children to the first ever Deloitte Street Child World Cup in Durban in 2010.  Besides the football, it provided a tool for advocacy on behalf of street children around the world, giving them a voice in a world arena, with the focus on their feelings and what being homeless is really like when you are a child with nowhere to go and no-one caring for you.  Our joint partners for this event were Amos Trust and Umthombo, which helped produce the Street Child World Cup website.
