Corporate Volunteer Day Benefits Depaul Slovensko
On the 18th of June, Chief Executives from a range of companies across Bratislava visited both of Depaul Slovensko's projects to volunteer their time as part of community project Our Bratislava. This project encourages corporate volunteers to get involved in their local community and support charities or good causes by lending a hand for the day. This year over 1,600 volunteers from 30 companies were involved in the project.
Depaul Slovensko received unprecedented media attention this year, as they hosted the Chief Executives of all 30 companies at their 2 projects, St.Vincent Nightshelter and St.Louise Shelter. The Pontis Foundation who organise Our Bratislava, asked Depaul Slovensko to host the CEO's for the day and arrange activities for them. Group Chief Executive Mark McGreevy greeted them and thanked them for their time. The volunteers painted doors, replaced old beds and prepared a new medical area in the St.Vincent Nightshelter. Over at St.Louise volunteers painted the inside of the building and helped clear the garden. All the volunteers came together at the end of the day to help distribute food at the nightshelter.
The day was a great success for Depaul Slovensko, not only because of the great work done by the volunteers, but the huge boost in public profile and a marked rise in supporters and donations.
