Values: rights and responsibilities
Depaul believes in rights and responsibilities
We believe that people have fundamental rights as human beings and within the law, which must be safeguarded and upheld.
We believe that with rights go responsibilities and a duty to consider others. These rights and responsibilities extend equally to the organisation, service users, staff and volunteers, and our supporters and funders have a right to expect a consistently high level of service and integrity.
For us this means:
Rights
To be treated fairly and with impartiality within an equal opportunities framework
To have one's ideas and opinions listened to and respected
To work in a positive and supportive environment
To have one's contribution recognised
To be kept informed
Responsibilities
To treat others fairly and with impartiality within an equal opportunities framework
To listen to and respect the ideas and opinions of others
To work with others in a positive and supportive way
To recognise the contribution of others
To facilitate and take responsibility for effective communication
